HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — The National Weather Service in Huntsville says it plans to keep its operations mostly intact during the current government shutdown.

In a message to its partners, NWS said that due to its mission as an agency dedicated to public safety, its operations will be maintained at a "mostly business-as-usual" level. NWS said partners and the public at large can expect its Huntsville office to continue to be staffed 24/7, and there will be no impact on its forecasting services, severe weather warnings, or communications with news and emergency management agencies.
