AKRON — Female golfers from around the region gathered at Good Park Golf Course on Wednesday for the Division II district championship. Unfortunately for the Mahoning Valley, the area did not see anyone advance to state.
Only the top-two teams and the top-two individuals who were not on the qualifying teams made it to state.
Columbiana had the best day out of the three area squads that competed in Akron. The Clippers finished fourth, putting up a team score of 361.
Keystone took the team title with a 339, and Chagrin Falls was the runner-up with a 351. Southeast was third, finishing with a 357.
“Our expectation as a team was to be around 360. We shot 361,” Columbiana head coach Chad Moreschi said. “We targeted as a team, individually, our No. 1 came through big time today.
