The Pittsburgh Steelers are hosting five safeties for workouts after Sebastian Castro was ripped from their practice squad by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers .
Castro, 24, slotted into the safety competition but was never able to make a roster push after Chuck Clark was signed. Along with his work at safety, he became a proficient special teamer to make the team. He joined Logan Lee, Yahya Black, and Kaleb Johnson as Iowa Hawkeyes on the team, and the Steelers have drafted two Hawkeyes this year.
Among those players was former TCU safety Mark Perry, who notably chose the Houston Texans over the Steelers at one point last offseason after being offered a deal to sign in Pittsburgh.
