PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University is reviewing how things went during its first weekend of selling beer and wine at Gesa Field.
It’s part of a pilot program that kicked off a week ago . On Monday, WSU Athletics told KREM 2 it believes the first weekend of beer and wine sales was a success.
The department said WSU received positive feedback from fans and data on sales for the Apple Cup game.
WSU says it exceeded its per capita goal for total food and beverage sales, which made the September 20 game the best-grossing food and beverage performance in two years, according to WSU Senior Deputy Athletic Director Jon Haarlow.
“It was a successful first pilot," Haarlow said. "We had an operational plan. We stuck through. We executed that again. We know we've got some areas that we
