MYSURU: The famous Mysuru Dasara procession, also known as the Jamboo Savari, which is the main attraction of the 10-day celebrations will be held today. A final rehearsal was held on Tuesday and the city is all set for the grand show on Thursday.
The procession will take place in the evening, with thousands of people gathering to witness the event. The idol of Goddess Chamundeshwari will be placed on the golden howdah which will be carried by elephant Abhimanyu.
Abhimanyu is a seasoned elephant who has been participating in the Dasara procession for over 25 years. Abhimanyu was captured in the forests of Kodagu district in 1977. He has been a part of the Dasara procession since 1995 and has been carrying the ambari for the past five years.
