CHIKKAMAGALUR: Around 50-60 students from Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu are facing difficulties, including lack of food, water and shelter after a powerful earthquake measuring 6.9 magnitude struck the Philippines, leaving destruction and chaos in its wake.
Among them is Aishwarya from Chikkamagaluru, a medical student who was pursuing a five-year medical course in the Philippines, is among the many students struggling to cope with the situation.
Aishwarya, who had almost completed her course and was set to return home, is now stranded in Cebu city due to the earthquake. Her parents are worried and have appealed to the central and state governments to bring her back home.
