Coronation Street star Sally Ann Matthews has broken her silence on her emotional show exit as she revealed her sweet move in tribute to her time on the cobbles.
The actress was seen bowing out of the ITV soap on Wednesday night (October 1) almost 40 years since she made her debut in the role of Jenny Bradley - who later became a Connor after marrying Johnny Connor.
Those who follow the long-running show know she made her first appearance in the programme in 1986, when Oldham-born Sally was just 16.
The daughter of villain Alan Bradley, Jenny was taken in by mother figure Rita Tanner - then Rita Fairclough - while her father worked away.
After five years, Sally quit the show in pursuit of other roles. She returned briefly in 1993, before making a huge comeback in 2015
