WESTFIELD – It was classmate versus classmate and neighbor versus neighbor for bragging rights, personal improvement and postseason preparation as three Westfield rival schools (Westfield High, Westfield Technical Academy, St. Mary’s) came together to compete Wednesday alongside others like Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion Charter School, Pioneer Valley Regional, Belchertown and Agawam in a super-sized regular season cross country meet at Stanley Park.

“It was actually a lot of fun,” said Westfield Technical Academy girls cross country junior Jenna Lakoma, who enjoyed one of the most productive outings among her peers. “You get to spend so much time with them at school and then you get to compete with them. It’s just a lot of fun.”
