EUCLID, Ohio — A 17-year-old girl escaped serious injury when she was struck by a car while riding her bicycle, but police are now searching for the driver of the vehicle, which left the scene.
The teen was on her bicycle in the crosswalk as she crossed East 260th Street at the corner of Lakeshore Boulevard, police say. A white, four-door sedan was driving east on Lakeshore when it turned south onto East 260th Street, striking the teen.
The impact knocked the girl off her bike, police say. She was treated by EMS workers at the scene.
After striking the teen, the sedan continued south on East 260th Street, police say. The identity of the driver is unknown. Police say they are working on obtaining surveillance video of the collision.
