HOUSTON (KIAH) — The father, who initiated the emergency call to 911 to report his family in a Liberty County pond, secured his release on bond, in connection to an incident involving animal cruelty charges. No other charges have been filed.

Domingo Quintana, 61, exited the Liberty County Jail on Wednesday. Law enforcement officials have stated that Quintana's three children, along with their mother, were rescued from the water on Monday.

Houston police are currently conducting an investigation to determine the circumstances in the near-drowning incident. The authorities have also indicated that all three children will be placed under the care of Child Protective Services (CPS) custody upon their discharge from the hospital.
