New Delhi : India came down heavily upon Pakistan at the United Nations for its “hypocrisy” on human rights and slammed the neighbouring country for its long-standing support for terrorism. India also called on Pakistan to confront persecution and systematic discrimination of minorities.

Addressing the 34th Meeting of the 60th Session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva on Wednesday, Indian diplomat Mohammed Hussain said, “India finds it deeply ironic that a country like Pakistan with one of the world’s worst human rights records seeks to lecture others on human rights. Instead of spreading propaganda, Pakistan should confront the rampant state-sponsored persecution and systematic discrimination of minorities on their own soil.”
