In the heart of the desert, thousands of miles away from Bengal, a vibrant Durga Puja unfolds each year at the BAPS Hindu Mandir, the first traditional Hindu temple in the United Arab Emirates and the largest outside India. Built by the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha and consecrated by Mahant Swami Maharaj on 14 February 2024, the temple has become a cultural and spiritual hub for the local Hindu community.

BAPS Mandir hosts vibrant cultural festival

This year marks the second consecutive Durga Puja organised at BAPS by the local Bengali community. Around 130 families actively participate in the festivities, making it a heartfelt celebration of tradition far from home. Over four days, devotees come together to perform rituals, offer puja and anjali , and celebrate with cultural programmes
