‘I have had squads with less individual quality than this one qualify’ – Heimir Hallgrimsson still dreaming of World Cup

Heimir Hallgrimsson says he opted to stay loyal to the Ireland players who flopped so badly in the last game of the World Cup qualifiers in Armenia to give them a chance to redeem themselves in the double header away to Portugal and at home to Armenia.

The Ireland boss has made minor changes to the squad which he issued today, where Matt Doherty, Bosun Lawal and Jason Knight have joined Robbie Brady on the injury list, as those injuries are likely to keep the trio out of the November window as well as this camp.
