SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month and the Caddo Parish District Attorney’s Office is highlighting various community events.

According to the DA, one in four women have experienced violence from an intimate partner. Officials say domestic violence comes in many forms, such as stalking, psychological abuse, bullying, online intimidation, dating violence and physical assault.

“Our community desperately needs to come together to address this overwhelming issue,” says Leone Fitzgerald, president of the Caddo/Bossier Domestic Violence Task Force & director of Victim Assistance Program. “Domestic abuse can happen to anyone at any point in a relationship.”
