BASTROP COUNTY, Texas — A Lee County EMS paramedic was injured Monday in Bastrop County after experiencing a medical emergency while driving after transporting a patient on Sept. 29.
The medic managed to exit the highway but struck a tree. The accompanying paramedic called for another unit and immediately rendered aid, KVUE reported.

An EMS crew arrived quickly, and paramedics freed the driver and transported both crew members to Austin. The driver remains under care, while the passenger was released on Sept. 30.
