A patch of purple has appeared over the Cairngorms National Park area on Sunday, October 12.

According to WX Charts, a total of 7.32cm (2.8 inches) is set to fall over that area of the UK that day.
The Met Office warned of slightly cooler conditions developing towards the second half of the week commencing October 6.

In its long-range weather forecast from October 7 to 16, the Met Office said: "A broadly westerly pattern to start,
