Disney+ will soon rebrand Star as Hulu in all international markets, including Canada.
Disney says the change will go into effect on October 8 to more closely align the Disney+ platform worldwide ahead of a “fully integrated unified app experience” next year. A new Hulu tile will be introduced to replace Star, but otherwise, all of the actual streaming content will remain the same.
Star debuted on Disney+ in Canada in early 2021 as the Canadian version of Hulu, offering much of the U.S. streamer’s content. The Star section of Disney+ is home to a variety of Hulu titles, including Only Murders in the Building , The Kardashians , Futurama and Alien: Earth.
