The popularity of electric vehicles has exploded in Maryland over the past several years.

October is National Drive Electric Month and if you want to learn more about what it’s like to own one, visit the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore this weekend.

Representatives from the Baltimore Gas and Electric Transportation Electrification team will offer various opportunities to learn more about electric vehicles.

BGE will provide multiple electric vehicles on site, as well as a charger to demonstrate what it’s like to charge an electric vehicle. The event takes place Friday through Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The state has more than 100,000 registered electric vehicles concentrated in areas like Baltimore and Montgomery counties.
