HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM)-- The theme for the upcoming Pennsylvania Farm Show was announced on Thursday.

The PA Farm Show is just three months away, and this year's event will commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States of America. This year's theme for the Pennsylvania Farm Show will be "Growing a Nation."

Pennsylvania Secretary of Agriculture Russel Redding said the farm show is about history.

Redding was joined by several guests on Thursday morning in Philadelphia for the announcement.

"We stitched the first flag, or at least it was my first flag. But beyond the fife and drums, beyond the parchment and speeches stood the people who nourished this spirit of 76, the farmers who fed a growing nation," he said.
