CLEVELAND -- Jack Flaherty owns a World Series ring from last season with the Los Angeles Dodgers, a prize he treasures but rarely thinks about. It sits tucked away in a drawer.

His focus is here, with the Detroit Tigers, and on Thursday afternoon, he will take the mound in their biggest game of the year.

The Tigers face the Cleveland Guardians in the deciding Game 3 of the Wild Card Series at 3:08 p.m. at Progressive Field . Detroit will hand the ball to Flaherty, who brings more postseason starting experience than the rest of the staff combined.
