After leading Duke to the Final Four in his third season, head coach Jon Scheyer has been extended.

The Blue Devils have agreed to a six-year extension for Scheyer, which will run through the 2030-31 season. Scheyer was already under contract at Duke for the next four seasons.

The news of Scheyer's new deal was first reported by ESPN's Pete Thamel and Jeff Borzello.

A former player at Duke under Mike Krzyzewski, Scheyer replaced the college basketball legend after spending nine seasons on his staff and five seasons as his top assistant. Entering his fourth season on the job, Scheyer holds an 89-22 record.

Despite taking the job with massive shoes to fill, Scheyer has maintained the success so far during his time at Duke. He has improved the Blue Devils' finish each season since taking over, reaching the Round of 32 in 2022-23 before advancing to the Elite Eight in 2023-24.

This past season, the Blue Devils earned a No. 1 seed and reached the Final Four before being bounced by Houston. Duke finished the year 35-4.
