LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested Wednesday after “severely” beating and kidnapping a woman in Lincoln, police say.

Around 8:15 a.m., officers were sent on a welfare check for a 37-year-old Lincoln woman.

Police said officers received a text message with a picture of the victim that “showed her injuries and claimed she had been killed.”

The investigation led officers to North First and Adams streets, where they spotted 36-year-old Dominic Williams leaving in a vehicle.

Officers pulled over Dominic around 11:50 a.m. and found the victim unconscious in the back seat, according to police. Her injuries were “reflective” of those seen in the photo.
