LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A Lincoln man has been arrested in connection with the severe beating and kidnapping of a woman who was initially thought to be dead due to the extent of her injuries.

Dominic Williams, 36, of Lincoln, was taken into custody on Wednesday in northwest Lincoln on suspicion of first-degree assault and kidnapping. The 37-year-old female victim, also from Lincoln, was transported to the hospital with serious injuries and remains intubated.

According to Lincoln Police Criminal Investigations Captain Ben Miller, the assault is believed to be connected to a series of events that unfolded recently.
