CRAWFORD COUNTY, Mo. - A woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon in Steelville.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the crash occurred around 2:05 p.m. on Highway M, near Highway U in Steelville, involving a Chevrolet Tracker.

The crash happened after the Chevrolet travelled off the right side of the highway, MSHP says. After traveling off the roadway, the vehicle struck a culvert and went airborne before striking a tree.

The driver of the Chevrolet, a 65-year-old woman from Steelville, was partially ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to MSHP.

The driver of the Chevrolet was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, MSHP says.
