A multi-jurisdictional police task force has smashed a criminal organization that cops say had its fingers in a multitude of rackets.
Niagara Regional Police detectives, in conjunction with the RCMP, the Criminal Intelligence Service of Ontario and other law enforcement agencies, announced the results of Project Road King on Thursday.
The year-long investigation resulted in 30 suspects being arrested and charged. Collectively, the group faces 213 charges.
Project Road King resulted in the seizure of:
38 Recovered stolen vehicles (valued at $3,363,652)
12.25 kg of suspected Cocaine ($245,000)
1 kg of suspected Methamphetamine ($5,000)
1.5 kg MDMA ($15,000)
17 Long guns
3 Handguns
$503,450 in Canadian currency
$4,805 in U.S. currency
