WARREN COUNTY — Shelly Cook’s vision for her grandparents’ Lee Burke Road farmland is coming to fruition.
An entrepreneur and builder, Cook opened Reitano Vineyards last summer following years of work converting former pasture land into rows of grapevines.
On Saturday, she will unveil the vineyard’s new 14,000-square-foot tasting room with a grand opening that starts at noon.
Situated atop a hill that overlooks the vineyard and a small pond on the property, the tasting room has something for everyone. And that was the point, Cook said.
“This brings something different to the community that we don’t have. This is not a bar. I'm not in competition with any of the local restaurants. This is an experience,” said Cook on Tuesday as she led a tour through the massive, light-filled space.
