Warren County could allow residents to pursue “backyard beekeeping” at their homes.
The Planning Commission is scheduled to hold a public hearing on Wednesday for a proposed amendment to the zoning ordinance that adds “backyard beekeeping” as an accessory use allowed by right, without a conditional-use permit, in the R-1 Residential District.
Deputy Zoning Administrator Chase Lenz said by phone on Thursday that the proposed ordinance is similar to how the county allows “backyard chickens” in certain zoning districts.
