Registered voters in Los Angeles County will soon receive their vote-by-mail ballots ahead of the November special election.

LA voters have a choice of casting their votes in person or use the mail-in ballots to approve or reject Prop 50, a proposal to redraw California’s congressional districts in response to Texas’ redistricting plans. The ballot measure, also known as the Election Rigging Response Act, is backed by Gov. Gavin Newsom and leading Democrats as they argue California should “fight with fire” and counter partisan redistricting moves by the state of Texas.

Once the vote-by-mail ballots are filled out, voters can drop them off at over 400 official ballot drop boxes across the county or return via mail at
