On the heels of a holdout that went into training camp, the Ducks took care of some other vital business early by extending defenseman Jackson LaCombe’s contract Thursday morning.
LaCombe will be the highest-paid player on the roster next season when his eight-year, $72 million extension kicks in for 2026-27. It’s the most lucrative agreement in franchise history, surpassing the deals of “twins” Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry.
“Today is an exciting day for my family and I am grateful to the organization for their belief in me,” LaCombe said in a statement. “It was an easy decision for me to commit my future to the Ducks and Orange County. We are building something special here and I am excited to do everything I can to help this team win.”
