SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — Catholic Charities of North Louisiana has released the schedule for its final round of first-time home buyer classes in 2025.

According to a news release, the free HUD-certified program is designed to guide potential homeowners through the purchase process while offering access to benefits such as lower interest rates, up to $20,000 in down payment and closing cost assistance, and reduced mortgage insurance rates.

Each course consists of four two-hour sessions covering financial preparedness, credit, financing, and the home-buying process. Classes are taught by HUD-certified housing counselors with more than 50 years of combined experience.

Participants must attend all four sessions to complete the class. The upcoming dates are: • October: Oct. 21, 23, 28
