PHOENIX — The man accused of stabbing a mother and her two children after breaking into their Mesa apartment last month has been officially charged, authorities announced Thursday.

A grand jury indicted 22-year-old Lowell Dorn last week on two counts of attempted first-degree murder and one count each of burglary and aggravated assault, according to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.

His trial is set for Jan. 27, 2026.

Dorn is accused of entering the victims’ apartment near Dobson and Broadway roads around 4:30 a.m. on Sept. 17 while the family was sleeping, according to the Mesa Police Department.
