BOONE COUNTY, Ky. —

Multiple children were taken to the hospital with minor injuries after a school bus crash Thursday in Boone County.

According to the Boone County Sheriff's Office, it happened around 7 a.m. along Hicks Pike. Advertisement

The sheriff's office said one of the buses' wheels caught on the side of the roadway, causing the bus to hit a mailbox. Officials say when the driver overcorrected, the bus hit an embankment on the opposite side of the road.

Seven children were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, officials said.

The rest of the children were reunited with their parents at Gray Middle School.
