Lubbock Independent School District Officials are investigating allegations that a former pre-kindergarten teacher now facing a lawsuit abused one of her students in September.

According to an LISD statement issued Wednesday, Nat Williams Elementary officials, "took swift and appropriate action and communicated with parents in the Pre-K classroom" after learning of the allegations.

The statement was issued the same day the mother of the 3-year-old child filed a lawsuit against the teacher, who no longer works for the school, accusing her of sexual assault and sexual battery.

The parents are also suing the school district, who they argue is liable for the teacher's allegedly abusive actions which it failed to report, the petition states.
