GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - A state panel heard public testimony Thursday about a proposed deal to allow an insurance company to purchase a chain of dental clinics in Wisconsin.

The Office of the Commissioner of Insurance said Thursday at the start of the hearing that staff recommended approval of Delta Dental’s proposal to purchase Cherry Tree Dental, which has several locations in Northeast Wisconsin.

The clinics operate under various names in Ashwaubenon, Oshkosh and Menasha.

While the transaction doesn’t require OCI approval, Wisconsin law does require a public hearing and approval for Delta Dental group’s reorganization plan.
