RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) - Rankin County deputies arrested a woman after they said she fled from deputies who were responding to a domestic dispute call.

Deputies responded to the incident at a home on Glendale Place near the Reservoir area just after 12:45 p.m. on October 2, 2025.

While traveling to the location, deputies were informed that Latoya Fortune had fled from the home in a maroon Nissan Rogue SUV. Deputies said they tried to conduct a traffic stop, but Fortune continued fleeing southbound on Lakeland Drive toward Flowood.

Investigator Tyler Burnell, with the Rankin County Sheriff's Office, said Fortune was initially stopped after several miles on Lakeland Drive near Dogwood Festival Boulevard. However, Burnell said Fortune fled again after deputies attempted to pull her fr
