OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Evacations were underway Thursday afternoon near 24th and Wirt streets after a major gas leak was reported in the area, police said in a social media post.

Omaha Police and Fire were assisting M.U.D., closing 22nd-25th streets and from Binney to Spencer streets.

“Follow officer directions,” the OPD post states. “Updates will be provided.”
