After a three-day bench trial, a visiting judge declared Nogales councilman Saulo Bonilla guilty of one count of disorderly conduct and another count of threatening or intimidating.
Judge Deirdre Eshelman wrapped up the case and delivered Bonilla’s sentence at Santa Cruz County Superior Court on Sept. 25. She suspended a 10-day jail sentence, pending certain conditions: Bonilla must successfully complete one year of unsupervised probation, 40 hours of anger management classes, 40 hours of community service, undergo an assessment at a mental health facility and complete the recommended treatment, and avoid contact with the victim and witnesses in the case. ×
