CHESAPEAKE, Va. — The Great Bridge field hockey team is off to a blistering start this fall. At 10-0, the Wildcats have outscored their opponents by a staggering 51 to 1, and much of that success comes from junior midfielder Lexi Curtis.

Curtis isn’t surprised her team is rolling.

“I think that we’ve just all grown up together. We know where we’re going to be on the field,” she said. “We work so well closely.”

Head coach Katie Duke credits Curtis’ multi-sport background for her edge.

“She’s such a competitor,” Duke said. “She’s a great softball player too, and she just has the heart of a competitor and athlete.”
