SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) -- A man was arrested in Spartanburg Thursday in connection to a deadly fentanyl overdose that took place in July.

Officers with the Gaffney Police Department said they arrived at the Quality Inn on Corona Drive on July 26, after receiving a report of a drug overdose.

After weeks of investigation, a warrant was issued for the arrest of 31-year-old Christopher De La Rosa of Spartanburg.

De La Rosa was charged with one count of fentanyl-induced homicide, police said,

According to investigators, De La Rosa was arrested at a home on Mosspoint Circle. He is being held at the Cherokee County Detention Center, with a bond hearing scheduled for Friday at 8:30 a.m.
