GAFFNEY, S.C. —

Police in Gaffney, South Carolina have made an arrest in connection to an overdose death.

The Gaffney Police Department said officers were dispatched to the Quality Inn on Corona Drive on July 26 in response to a reported overdose.

Police said following several weeks of investigation, a warrant was issued on Thursday for Christopher De La Rosa, 31, of Spartanburg.

According to police, De La Rosa has been charged with one count of fentanyl-induced homicide.

Police said he is being held at the Cherokee County Detention Center pending a bond hearing scheduled for Friday at 8:30 a.m.
