Tulsa County has named a new director of emergency management, filling the role left vacant after the resignation of Joseph Kralicek in August.
Kralicek resigned after his arrest on child pornography charges. Deputy Director Tony Roda served in the position on an interim basis until the county selected his replacement.
New Appointment
The county announced that Bill Smiley began the job Oct. 1. Smiley has worked in emergency management for decades, including roles with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Tulsa District and the Oklahoma VA Health Care System. He has also been active in state and national emergency management associations.
