HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (WSMV) - A man sustained multiple burns after suffering from an electric shock while trimming a tree in Kentucky, according to WKDZ Radio.

WKDZ reports that a 23-year-old man accidentally made contact with 7200-volt power lines Thursday afternoon while working to trim a tree on Greenville Road in Hopkinsville.

The 23-year-old suffered burns to his back and chest as a result of the shock. He was also reportedly unconscious for a short amount of time after the incident, WKDZ said.

The man was taken to an area hospital by ambulance before being flown to a Nashville hospital.
