LOGAN, W.Va. (WSAZ) - A post office in our area that had been closed for more than six months reopened its doors on Thursday.

The post office in Logan welcomed back their regulars as the United States Postal Service celebrated with a grand re-opening ceremony.

The Logan Post Office closed in March due to a sewer issue in the basement, according to a USPS spokesperson.

Neighbors react to sudden post office closure

Mail operations were moved to a temporary location, while crews worked to make repairs.

“We know that its absence during the temporary closure was a concern to customers. So, not only our employees are happy to be back, but our customers are too,” said Susan Wright, a spokesperson for the U.S. Postal Service.

The post office resumed its regular business hours on Thursday.
