OWEGO, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) - From roping to racing, community members of all gender identities better giddy up as the gay rodeo is riding into town.
Rodeo fans won't have to hold their horses too much longer, as the 9th Annual Keystone State Gay Rodeo is this Sunday, starting at 12:30 p.m. at Rainbow Rodeo Productions in Owego.
Adam Romanik is the President of the Keystone State Gay Rodeo Association and says those in attendance can expect traditional rodeo favorites like barrel racing, roping, and chute dogging. But there will also be some funnier events like goat dressing, which is a relay race to put underwear on goats.
Romanik says all are welcome at the rodeo.
"It doesn't matter who you are, you're welcome here. Come as you are, you know, come and you're welcome here," said Romanik.
