EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Local political parties are responding after Representative Alex Burton (D) was fined in what the democratic party is calling in a news release a “clerical reporting issue.”
The Vanderburgh County GOP released a statement Thursday morning saying they were concerned about Rep. Burton being allegedly “fined for campaign finance violations.”
Local democrats later confirmed Burton was fined, but say the GOP is trying to distract voters from issues facing Evansville families.
Meanwhile, local republicans say Burton received an IEC fine after Burton’s “failure to report 8 separate campaign contributions from ActBlue.”
