CLEVELAND — With one swing of the bat, Detroit Tigers catcher Dillon Dingler put his hometown Guardians in danger on Oct 2.

A Stark County native and Jackson High School graduate, Dingler launched a solo home run 401 feet to center field off Guardians pitcher Joey Cantillo in the fifth inning.

Cantillo entered the action in the fourth inning during what the Guardians turned into a bullpen game.

Dingler's first career MLB playoff homer gave the Tigers a 2-1 lead in a winner-take-all Game 3 of the American League Wild Card Series at Progressive Field.
