PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes announced that a state grand jury has indicted a man from Florida for allegedly scamming Arizona’s school voucher system, also known as Empowerment Scholarship Accounts (ESA).
On Thursday, the AG’s office said that Adam Renae Jones is facing theft and fraud charges after prosecutors allege he illegally obtained funds between 2022 and 2024 by submitting applications for fictitious children. According to a copy of the indictment obtained by Arizona’s Family, he faces one count of theft, a class 3 felony, and five counts of fraudulent schemes and artifices, which is a class 2 felony.
