CROWN POINT — A jury on Wednesday found a Crown Point man guilty of attempting to rape a woman outside a hotel in Hammond in August 2024.

Dominique Demetrius Gee was charged Aug. 1, 2024, with attempted rape with a repeat sex offender enhancement, criminal confinement, battery resulting in bodily injury and two counts of resisting law enforcement.

He was convicted on all counts.

According to charging documents, a woman called the police just after midnight on Aug. 1, 2024, claiming she'd been in a fight that involved her and a man who attempted to rape her in the northeast part of the parking lot at Days Inn and Suites, 4000 Calumet Ave., in Hammond.
