ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4)—It originally started as a way to promote a St. Louis area business, but has grown into much more.
John Wilbers is a local attorney who started hiding $500 in cash at places around the area.
“I don’t care who you are; everybody can use $500,” he said.
Wilbers has an office in Clayton and a heart for helping.
The cash drops started as a way to advertise his law firm. People would follow the Instagram page @cashstashstl to see where an envelope of money was hidden, while giving clues to its location.
“It keeps dollars in St. Louis, and it’s not something where we send money to an out-of-state marketing company.”
When he started hearing from those who found the money, he decided to keep the drops going.
