After a sinkhole in Cottle County closed a portion of FM 1038 earlier in the week, Texas Department of Transportation crews are working to fill the 70-foot hole that engulfed a piece of the road.

According to TxDOT in Childress , crews are continuing to haul material to the site of a sinkhole located on FM 1038 between County Roads 485 and 489.

According to TxDOT, officials do not have an anticipated date for reopening the closed portion of the roadway. Ho
